essential information
Mainly used in organic synthesis, pharmaceutical industry, and dye industry. At low concentrations, experimental animals may experience rapid breathing, tearing, drowsiness, mental lethargy, and delayed response; At slightly higher concentrations, breathing difficulties, lateral lying, and protruding eyeballs may also occur; Extreme breathing difficulties, spasms, and death occur when the concentration is high. Can cause poisoning and death through transdermal absorption. In addition, it also poses certain hazards to the environment.
application area
Used as a pharmaceutical intermediate, for caffeine and vitamin B, as well as an oil soluble colorant for color film and a raw material for 502 adhesive.
This product is an intermediate for fine chemical products such as pharmaceuticals and dyes, used for the synthesis of esters, amides, acids, and nitriles. Japan mainly uses it as an intermediate for cyanoacrylate quick drying adhesives, which are used for bonding automotive parts and household appliance assemblies. In addition, it is also used in fields such as vitamin B6 and synthetic dyes. 5-Cyano-6-hydroxy-4-methoxymethyl-2-methylpyridine can be synthesized by cyclization of ethyl cyanoacetate with methoxyacetylacetone and ammonia solution. 3-amino-5-aminomethyl-4-methoxymethyl-2-methylpyridine can be obtained through nitration, chlorination, and catalytic hydrogenation. Further diazotization, hydrolysis, and salt formation can yield biotin B6.
Cyanoacetate ethyl ester is an intermediate for the preparation of diethyl malonate, which can be used to prepare 2-amino-4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine as an intermediate for sulfonylurea herbicides, insecticide fipronil, and pharmaceutical vitamin B.
Packaging, Storage, Transportation, and Safety
Storage precautions:
Store in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Stay away from sources of fire and heat. Keep the container sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidants, reducing agents, acids, bases, and edible chemicals, and avoid mixing storage. Equip with corresponding types and quantities of fire-fighting equipment. The storage area should be equipped with emergency response equipment for leaks and suitable containment materials.
Emergency response to leakage
Quickly evacuate personnel from the contaminated area to a safe zone, isolate them, and strictly restrict their entry and exit. Cut off the fire source. It is recommended that emergency responders wear self-contained positive pressure respirators and protective clothing. Do not come into direct contact with the leaked material. Cut off the leakage source as much as possible to prevent it from entering restricted spaces such as sewers and drainage ditches. Minor leakage: Absorb or absorb with sand or other non combustible materials. Massive leakage: Construct embankments or dig pits to contain it. Transfer to a tanker or dedicated collector using a pump, and recycle or transport to a waste disposal site for disposal.
Protective measures
Respiratory protection: When there is a possibility of exposure to its vapors, a self-priming filter type gas mask (half face mask) should be worn. It is recommended to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus during emergency rescue or evacuation.
Eye protection: Wear safety goggles.
Body protection: Wear polyethylene protective clothing.
Hand protection: Wear rubber gloves.
Other: Smoking, eating, and drinking are prohibited at the work site. After work, thoroughly clean. Store clothes contaminated with toxic substances separately and wash them for later use. Maintain good hygiene habits.
