Ammonium chloride, abbreviated as ammonium chloride, is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula NH4Cl. It refers to the ammonium salt of hydrochloric acid and is often a byproduct of the alkali industry. Nitrogen content of 24% to 26%, appearing as small white or slightly yellow square or octahedral crystals, available in both powder and granular forms. Granular ammonium chloride is not easily hygroscopic and is easy to store, while powdered ammonium chloride is commonly used as a basic fertilizer for the production of compound fertilizers. It belongs to physiological acidic fertilizers and is not suitable for application on acidic soil and saline alkali soil due to its high chlorine content. It is not suitable for use as seed fertilizer, seedling fertilizer or foliar fertilizer, nor is it suitable for application on chlorine sensitive crops such as tobacco, potatoes, citrus, tea trees, etc. Ammonium chloride is highly effective and stable as a fertilizer for rice fields, as chlorine can inhibit nitrification and promote fiber formation in rice stems, increase toughness, and reduce rice lodging and pest invasion.

1. Can be used as raw materials to manufacture dry batteries and rechargeable batteries, other ammonium salts, electroplating additives, and metal welding fluxes;
2. Used as a dyeing assistant, as well as for tin plating and galvanizing, leather tanning, pharmaceuticals, candle making, adhesives, chroming, and precision casting;
3. Used for pharmaceuticals, dry batteries, fabric printing and dyeing, detergents;
4. Used as crop fertilizer, suitable for crops such as rice, wheat, cotton, hemp, vegetables, etc;
5. Used as an analytical reagent, such as preparing ammonia ammonium chloride buffer solution. Used as a supporting electrolyte in electrochemical analysis. Used as an arc stabilizer for emission spectroscopy analysis, an interference inhibitor for atomic absorption spectroscopy analysis, and for testing the viscosity of synthetic fibers;
6. Medicinal ammonium chloride is used as an expectorant, diuretic, and expectorant;
