Polyethylene (PE) is a thermoplastic resin made by polymerizing ethylene. In industry, it also includes copolymers of ethylene with small amounts of alpha olefins. Polyethylene is odorless, non-toxic, and feels like wax. It has excellent low-temperature resistance (with a minimum operating temperature of -100~-70 ° C), good chemical stability, and can withstand most acid and alkali corrosion (not resistant to acids with oxidative properties). Insoluble in general solvents at room temperature, with low water absorption and excellent electrical insulation.

Polyethylene is highly sensitive to environmental stress (chemical and mechanical interactions), and its heat aging resistance is inferior to the chemical structure and processing strips of polymers. Polyethylene can be processed using the molding methods of general thermoplastic plastics. It has a wide range of applications, mainly used to manufacture films, packaging materials, containers, pipelines, monofilaments, wires and cables, daily necessities, etc., and can also be used as high-frequency insulation materials for televisions, radars, etc.

 

application area 

High pressure polyethylene: More than half of it is used for film products, followed by pipes, injection molded products, wire wrapping layers, etc.
Medium and low pressure polyethylene: mainly used for injection molded products and hollow products.
Ultra high pressure polyethylene: Due to its excellent comprehensive properties, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene can be used as an engineering plastic.
