Basic information

Dichloromethane, an organic compound with the chemical formula CH2Cl2, is a colorless transparent liquid with a pungent odor similar to ether. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether, in the usual conditions of use is a non-flammable low boiling point solvent, its vapor in the high temperature air into a high concentration, will generate weak combustion of mixed gas, commonly used to replace flammable petroleum ether, ether and so on.

Application areas

1. It is used for grain fumigation and refrigeration of low-pressure refrigerators and air-conditioning devices.
2. Used as solvent, extractant and mutagen.
3. Used in the electronics industry. Commonly used as a cleaning degreasing agent.

Packaging, transportation and safety

Precautions for operation: Avoid mist droplets during operation and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Avoid letting released vapors and mist droplets into the air in the work area. Operate in a well-ventilated area and use the minimum amount. Emergency equipment must be available at all times to extinguish fires and deal with spills. An empty storage container may still contain hazardous residues. Do not use this in the vicinity of welding, flame or hot surfaces.
 

Storage Precautions: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated and direct sunlight place. Storage must be kept away from heat, flame and incompatible materials, such as strong oxidant, strong acid, nitric acid. Store in a labeled container. Unused containers and empty barrels should be tightly covered. Avoid damage to the container and regularly check the storage tank for defects such as damage or leakage. The container is galvanized or lined with Phenolic synthetic resin to reduce the possibility of methylene chloride decomposition. Limited storage. Post warning signs where appropriate. The storage area should be separated from the densely populated work area, and the access of personnel to the area should be restricted.
