Basic information
Heptane (English name n-Heptane) is a colorless volatile liquid. It is mainly used as a standard for the determination of octane number, and can also be used as anesthetics, solvents, raw materials for organic synthesis and the preparation of experimental reagents.
Application areas
1. Used as analytical reagent, gasoline engine knock test standard, chromatographic analysis reference substance, solvent.
2. Can be used as animal and vegetable oil extraction solvent, quick-drying rubber adhesive. Solvent for rubber industry. Also used in coatings, varnishes, fast-drying inks and printing industry as cleaning solvents.
3. Used as a standard for the determination of octane number, solvent, and for organic synthesis, preparation of experimental reagents.
Packaging, transportation and safety
Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat source. The temperature of the warehouse should not exceed 30 ℃. Keep container sealed. Should be stored separately from the oxidant, do not mix storage. Explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities shall be adopted. It is forbidden to use mechanical equipment and tools that are easy to produce sparks. The storage area should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and suitable containment materials.
