Basic information

Diethylenetriamine is a yellow hygroscopic transparent viscous liquid, irritating ammonia odor, flammable, strong alkaline. Soluble in water, acetone, benzene, ethanol, methanol, etc., difficult to dissolve in n-heptane, corrosive to copper and its alloys. Melting point -35 ℃, boiling point 207 ℃, relative density 0.9586(20, 20 ℃), refractive index 1.4810. Flash point 94 ℃. This product has the reactivity of secondary amine, easy to react with a variety of compounds, its derivatives have a wide range of uses. Easy to absorb moisture and carbon dioxide in the air.

Application areas

Mainly used as a solvent and organic synthesis intermediates for the preparation of gas purifiers (with CO2 removal), lubricant additives, emulsifiers, photographic chemicals, surfactants, fabric finishing agents, paper enhancers, metal chelating agents, heavy metal hydrometallurgy and cyanide-free plating diffusion agents, brighteners, ion exchange resins and polyamide resins.

Packaging, transportation and safety

Emergency treatment of leakage
Evacuate personnel from the leakage pollution area to the safety area, prohibit irrelevant personnel from entering the pollution area, and cut off the fire source. Emergency personnel shall wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothing. Do not touch the leakage directly, and stop the leakage under the condition of ensuring safety. Water spray can reduce evaporation but do not allow water to enter the storage container. Absorb with sand, vermiculite or other inert material and collect and transport to waste disposal site. It can also be washed with a large amount of water, and the diluted washing liquid is put into the waste water system. If there is a large amount of leakage, use the dam to accommodate it, and then collect, transfer, recycle or discard it after harmless treatment.
Protective measures
Respiratory protection: Wear a gas mask when you may come into contact with its vapors. In case of emergency rescue or evacuation, it is recommended to wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Eye protection: wear chemical safety goggles.
Protective clothing: wear anti-corrosion work clothes.
Hand protection: wear rubber gloves.
Others: Smoking, eating and drinking are strictly prohibited at the work site. After work, shower and change clothes. Pre-employment and regular medical examinations are carried out.
First aid measures
Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing and rinse thoroughly with soap and water. If there are burns, seek medical attention.
Eye contact: immediately open the upper and lower eyelids, rinse with flowing water or saline for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
Inhalation: quickly leave the scene to fresh air. Keep the respiratory tract unobstructed. Keep warm and rest. Give oxygen when breathing is difficult. When breathing stops, give artificial respiration immediately. Seek medical attention.
Ingestion: Mistake immediately gargle, drink milk or egg white. Seek medical attention.
