Application area

Insurance powder is widely used in the textile industry for reducing dyeing, reducing cleaning, printing, and decolorization, as well as for bleaching fabrics such as silk, wool, nylon, etc. Due to its absence of heavy metals, bleached fabrics have bright colors and are not easily faded. In terms of various substances, insurance powder can also be used for food bleaching, such as gelatin, sucrose, honey, soap, animal (vegetable) oil, bamboo ware, porcelain clay bleaching, etc. Insurance powder can also be used in organic synthesis, such as as as a reducing agent or bleaching agent in the production of dyes and drugs. It is a suitable bleaching agent for wood pulp papermaking. Moreover, it can reduce many heavy metal ions such as Pb2+, Bi3+, etc. to metals in water treatment and pollution control, and can also be used for preserving food and fruits. However, due to the various hazards associated with insurance powder, many of its uses tend to be replaced by safer, easier to store and transport sulfur dioxide urea.

 

Packaging, Storage, Transportation, and Safety

Storage precautions:

Store in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Maintain relative humidity below 75%. The packaging requires sealing and must not come into contact with air. It should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, and flammable materials, and avoid mixing storage. Adopt explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities. Prohibit the use of mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to generating sparks. The storage area should be equipped with suitable materials to contain leaked materials
