Polyformaldehyde

Linear polymer of formaldehyde. Without a fixed melting point, it decomposes upon heating. Melting point of 120-170 ℃. Easy to dissolve in hot water and release formaldehyde, slowly soluble in cold water, soluble in caustic soda and alkali metal carbonate solutions, insoluble in alcohols and ethers, and highly polymer insoluble in water.

Application area 

Polyformaldehyde is mainly used in the production and use of herbicides, as well as in the production of synthetic resins (such as artificial horn products or artificial ivory) and adhesives. Polyformaldehyde is used for disinfection in the pharmaceutical industry (as an active ingredient in contraceptive creams), as well as in pharmacies, clothing, and bedding. Polyformaldehyde can also be used as a fumigation disinfectant, fungicide, and insecticide.
 
Low polymerization degree polyformaldehyde can replace ordinary industrial formaldehyde aqueous solution in the synthesis of various downstream products such as pesticides, synthetic resins, coatings, and fumigation disinfectants. It can not only reduce the energy consumption of dehydration, but also greatly reduce the amount of wastewater treatment. This is a green and environmentally friendly project that benefits the country and the people. Low degree of polymerization polyformaldehyde is a solid particle with higher active ingredients than industrial formaldehyde, which is beneficial for chemical synthesis and other industrial applications such as chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Especially in the synthesis of materials that require the use of anhydrous formaldehyde, it has a wide range of applications.
