Essential information

Sodium metabisulfite is a white or yellow crystalline powder or small crystal with a strong SO2 odor. It has a specific gravity of 1.4 and is soluble in water. The aqueous solution is acidic, and when it comes into contact with strong acids, it releases SO2 and generates corresponding salts. If left in the air for a long time, it oxidizes to Na2S2O6, so this product cannot be stored for a long time. Above 150 degrees Celsius, SO2 is decomposed.

Application area 

Chemical industry: used for the production of insurance powder, sulfamethoxazole metamaterial, caprolactam, as well as the purification of chloroform, phenylpropanoid sulfone, and benzaldehyde. Used as a fixative ingredient in the photographic industry. The spice industry is used to produce vanillin. Used as a preservative in the brewing industry, a rubber coagulant, and a dechlorination agent for bleached cotton fabrics. Organic intermediates, dyes, leather used as reducing agents, used in electroplating industry, wastewater treatment in oil fields, and used as mineral processing agents in mines.
Industry: Used in sectors such as printing and dyeing, organic synthesis, printing, leather making, pharmaceuticals, etc; Used as preservatives, bleaching agents, and loosening agents in food processing.
Used as a chemical reagent in printing, dyeing, photography, bleaching agents, mordants, reducing agents, rubber coagulants, as well as in organic synthesis pharmaceuticals and fragrances.

Packaging matters
Packaged in plastic woven bags lined with polyethylene plastic bags, with a net weight of 25kg or 50kg per bag. It should be stored in a cool and dry warehouse. The packaging should be sealed to prevent air oxidation. Pay attention to moisture prevention. During transportation, it should be protected from rain and direct sunlight exposure. It is strictly prohibited to store and transport together with acids, oxidants, and harmful and toxic substances. This product should not be stored for a long time. Handle with care during loading and unloading to prevent packaging from breaking. When a fire breaks out, water and various fire extinguishers can be used to extinguish it.

2. Sodium metabisulfite is packaged in plastic woven bags or barrels lined with plastic bags, with a net weight of 25 or 50kg;
3. This product should be transported and stored to prevent damage, moisture, and deterioration when exposed to heat. It is strictly prohibited to coexist with oxidants and acids;
4. The storage period of this product is 6 months from the date of production.

Transportation matters
When shipping, the packaging should be intact and the loading should be secure. During transportation, it is necessary to ensure that the container does not leak, collapse, fall, or be damaged. It is strictly prohibited to mix and transport with oxidants, acids, edible chemicals, etc. During transportation, it should be protected from direct sunlight, rain, and high temperatures. The vehicle should be thoroughly cleaned after transportation.
