Essential information
Polyacrylamide (PAM) is a general term for polymers obtained by copolymerizing acrylamide homopolymers or other monomers, and is one of the widely used varieties in water-soluble polymers. Due to the presence of amide groups, easy formation of hydrogen bonds, good water solubility, and high chemical activity in the structural units of polyacrylamide, it is easy to obtain various modified products with branched or network structures through grafting or cross-linking. It has a wide range of applications in industries such as petroleum extraction, water treatment, textiles, papermaking, mineral processing, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture, and is known as the "additive for all industries". The main application areas abroad are water treatment, papermaking, mining, metallurgy, etc.
Application area
1. Used in the paper industry to improve the retention rate of fillers, pigments, etc. To reduce the loss of raw materials and environmental pollution; The second is to improve the strength of the paper (including dry strength and wet strength). In addition, using PAM can also enhance the paper's tear resistance and porosity to improve visual and printing performance. It is also used in food and tea packaging paper.
2. Widely used in the petroleum industry, oil extraction, drilling mud, waste mud treatment, prevention of water breakthrough, reduction of friction, improvement of oil recovery rate, and tertiary oil recovery.
3. Used as a textile sizing agent, the slurry has stable performance, minimal shedding, low fabric breakage rate, and smooth fabric surface.
4. PAM is also widely used in thickening, stabilizing colloids, reducing drag, bonding, film formation, biomedical materials, and other fields.
5. Other industries, such as the food industry, are used for sugarcane juice clarification and syrup phosphate float extraction in the production of sugarcane sugar and beet sugar. Enzyme based fermentation broth is used in the coagulation and clarification industry, as well as in the recovery, stable quality, and good performance of feed protein. The recovered protein powder has no adverse effects on the survival rate, weight gain, and egg production of chickens. It is also used in the synthesis of resin coatings, water blocking materials for civil engineering grouting, building materials industry, cement quality improvement, construction industry adhesives, joint filling and repair and water blocking agents, soil improvement, electroplating industry, printing and dyeing industry, etc.
Packaging, Storage, Transportation, and Safety
The packaging of water treatment agent polyacrylamide should be firmly marked, including the manufacturer's name, product name, model, grade, trademark, batch number or production date, net weight, factory address, as well as the markings specified in GB 191, "afraid of heat" and "afraid of moisture" markings.
Each batch of water treatment agent polyacrylamide leaving the factory should be accompanied by a quality certificate, which includes: manufacturer name, product name, model, grade, molecular weight, batch number or production date, net weight, proof of product quality compliance with this standard, and this standard number.
The water treatment agent polyacrylamide (solid) is packaged in double layers. The inner packaging is made of polyethylene plastic film bags with a certain thickness.
When packaging, tie the mouth with Velocilon rope or a rope of equivalent quality. The outer packaging shall be made of polypropylene plastic woven bags or wooden or iron barrels, and their performance and inspection methods shall comply with relevant regulations. The net weight of each bag (barrel) is 25 kg or 50 kg, or determined according to user requirements.
Colloidal polyacrylamide is packaged in polyethylene plastic drums with a net weight of 25 kg per drum; Alternatively, it can be packaged in iron drums lined with polyethylene plastic film bags, with a net weight of 50 kg or 200 kg per drum.
During transportation, covered tools should be used to prevent rain and sun exposure. Store in a cool, ventilated, and dry warehouse.
The storage period of water treatment agent polyacrylamide is two years for solids and six months for colloids.
