Basic information

Dipropylene glycol is an odorless, colorless, sweet, water-soluble and hygroscopic liquid at room temperature. Soluble in water and toluene, miscible in methanol, ether, with a spicy sweet taste, non-corrosive. Very little irritation to the skin and very low toxicity. Combustible in case of open flame and high heat. It can form an explosive mixture with air. It is suitable for flavor, fragrance and cosmetics, which are sensitive to odor.

Application areas

1) dipropylene glycol is the most ideal solvent for many fragrances and cosmetics. This kind of raw material has good water, oil and hydrocarbon co-solubility, and the smell is slight, the skin irritation is very small, and the toxicity is very low. Isomer uniform distribution, excellent quality;
 
2) Dipropylene glycol can also be used as a coupling agent and humectant in a variety of different cosmetic applications. In the field of perfumery, dipropylene glycol is used in a proportion of more than 50%. In other applications, dipropylene glycol is generally used in a proportion of less than 10% by weight. Some specific product application areas include: hair curls, skin cleansers (cold creams, shower gels, body washes and lotions) deodorants, face, hand and body skin care products, moisturizing skin care products and lipsticks;
 
3) dipropylene glycol is also used in the production of unsaturated resin and saturated resin, and the resin produced by it has excellent flexibility, crack resistance and weather resistance. The product has long-term yellowing resistance.
 
4) Used as a solvent for cellulose acetate; cellulose nitrate; shellac varnish; castor oil. It can also be used to make plasticizers, fumigants, synthetic detergents, etc.

Packaging, transportation and safety
