Basic information

1,4-dioxane, also known as 1,4-dioxane, is an organic compound, chemical formula C4H8O2, is a colorless transparent liquid, miscible with water, miscible in most organic solvents, mainly used as cellulose nitrate, celluloid, cellulose resin, vegetable oil, mineral oil and oil soluble dyes and other solvents, it is also used in the manufacture of paint, varnish, plasticizer, wetting agent, polishing agent, paint remover, spices, preservatives, fumigation disinfectant, deodorant and medical supplies.

Application areas

It is mainly used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, celluloid, cellulose resin, vegetable oil, mineral oil and oil-soluble dyes, and is also used in the manufacture of spray paint, varnish, plasticizer, wetting agent, polishing agent, paint remover, spices, preservatives, fumigation disinfectant, deodorant and medical supplies.

Packaging, transportation and safety

Operation precautions: airtight operation, full ventilation. Operators must be specially trained and strictly abide by the operating procedures. It is recommended that the operator wear self-priming filtering gas mask (half mask), safety protective glasses, anti-static overalls and rubber oil-resistant gloves. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the workplace. Use explosion-proof ventilation systems and equipment. Prevent vapor leakage into the workplace air. Avoid contact with oxidizing agent, reducing agent and halogen. When filling, the flow rate should be controlled, and there is a grounding device to prevent static accumulation. Handle and unload lightly to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Equipped with corresponding types and quantities of fire fighting equipment and leakage emergency treatment equipment. Empty containers may leave harmful substances.
Precautions for storage: Usually the commodity is added with a stabilizer. Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat source. The temperature of the warehouse should not exceed 30 ℃. The packaging is required to be sealed and not in contact with air. It shall be stored separately from oxidizing agent, reducing agent, halogen element and acid, and mixed storage shall not be allowed. Should not be stored for a long time, so as not to deteriorate. Explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities shall be adopted. It is forbidden to use mechanical equipment and tools that are easy to produce sparks. The storage area should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and suitable containment materials.
