Basic information
Pyridine, an organic compound with the chemical formula C5H5N, is a six-membered heterocyclic compound containing one nitrogen heteroatom. It can be regarded as a compound in which one of the benzene molecules (CH) is substituted by N, so it is also called nitrogen benzene, colorless or yellowish liquid, and has a foul smell. Pyridine and its homologs are found in bone tar, coal tar, coal gas, shale oil, and petroleum. Pyridine can be used industrially as a denaturant, a dyeing aid, and a raw material for the synthesis of a range of products, including pharmaceuticals, disinfectants, dyes, etc.
Application areas
For the manufacture of vitamins, sulfa drugs, pesticides and plastics, etc.; can also be used as alkaline solvents, deacidification and acylation of good solvent; can also be used as polymerization, oxidation, acrylonitrile carbonylation reaction catalyst; can also be used as silicone rubber stabilizer, anion exchange membrane raw materials.
Packaging, transportation and safety

Small amount of leakage: mixed with sand, dry lime or soda ash. It can also be washed with a large amount of water and diluted with washing water into the waste water system.
Quantity leakage: build a dam or dig a pit to accommodate it. Transfer to tank truck or special collector by pump, recycle or transport to waste disposal site.
