Basic information
A white powdery solid, commonly known as hydrated lime, hydrated lime, and an aqueous solution called clarified lime water. It is a white powdery solid, slightly soluble in water. Calcium hydroxide has the general nature of alkali, is a strong alkali. Calcium hydroxide is a strong binary base, but slightly soluble in water. Calcium hydroxide is widely used in industry.
Application areas
1, can be used as raw materials for the production of calcium carbonate.
2, calcium hydroxide is alkaline, so it can be used to reduce the acidity of the soil, so as to improve the soil structure. Pesticides in the Bordeaux liquid is the use of milk of lime (calcium hydroxide dissolved in water) and copper sulfate aqueous solution in accordance with a certain proportion of the preparation. In winter, trees winter pest control, above the roots of trees coated 80cm of lime slurry.
3. High quality products are mainly used for the production of epichlorohydrin and epoxy propane.
4, can be used in rubber, petrochemical additives, such as the oil industry added to the lubricating oil, can prevent coking, sludge deposition, and anti-corrosion.
5, used for the preparation of bleaching powder, bleaching powder, disinfectant, acid agent, astringent, hard water softener, soil acid prevention agent, depilatory agent, buffer, neutralizer, curing agent, etc.
6, calcium hydroxide and carbon dioxide in the air will also react to form calcium carbonate, which is insoluble in water. In the sugar industry, calcium hydroxide is first used to neutralize the acid in the syrup, and then carbon dioxide is introduced to react with the remaining calcium hydroxide to generate a precipitate that is filtered out to reduce the sour taste of the sugar.
Packaging, transportation and safety
Excessive intake and absorption of calcium hydroxide by the human body can cause dangerous symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, internal bleeding, muscle paralysis, low blood pressure, obstruction of the myosin and actin systems, increased blood pH, and damage to internal organs.
