Mainly used as a raw material for PVC plasticizers. Used as a solvent and preservative. Octanol is mainly used in the production of phthalate esters and aliphatic diester plasticizers such as dioctyl phthalate, dioctyl azelairate, and dioctyl sebacate. It is used as the main plasticizer and cold resistant auxiliary plasticizer for plastics, defoamer, dispersant, mineral processing agent, and petroleum filler, and is also used in printing and dyeing, painting, film, and other fields.

Mainly used for the production of: dioctyl phthalate (DOP), dioctyl oxalate (DOA), trioctyl trimellitate (TOTM), other plasticizers, octyl acrylate, surfactants, lubricant additives, mining, diesel fuel additives, solvents and formulations, rust inhibitor esters, and other chemicals.
Packaging, Storage, Transportation, and Safety
Storage precautions:
Store in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Stay away from sources of fire and heat. It should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, etc., and avoid mixing storage. Equip with corresponding types and quantities of fire-fighting equipment. The storage area should be equipped with emergency response equipment for leaks and suitable containment materials. Packaged in galvanized iron drums, each weighing 150kg. According to regulations on flammable materials, store and transport at low temperatures to prevent exposure to sunlight.
