essential information

Potassium fluoroborate, also known as potassium fluoroborate, has the chemical formula KBF4 and a molecular weight of 125.90. Potassium borofluoroate is white powder or gel crystal, slightly soluble in water and hot ethanol, and can be used as flux during welding.

application area

1. Used as a flux in welding and as a raw material for manufacturing other fluoride salts, it can also be used in electrochemical processes and reagents.
2. Used as a flux for hot welding and brazing, a raw material for aluminum magnesium casting to produce boron containing alloys, and as a filler in heavy-duty grinding wheels using resin as an abrasive binder. When welding and fusing silver, gold, and stainless steel, it can remove the slag of light metals. It is a raw material for producing boron trifluoride and other fluoride salts. Also used in electrochemical processes and reagents.
3. Potassium borofluoride is used in low chromium chromium plating and lead tin alloy electrolytes. Industrial products contain 95% potassium borofluoride, and the content of chloride and sulfate in industrial potassium borofluoride used for chromium plating needs to be controlled. Potassium borofluoride can also be used for texture etching of aluminum alloys and etching of titanium and silicon wafers.

Packaging, Storage, Transportation, and Safety

It should be stored in a cool and dry warehouse. Sealed packaging for storage to prevent damage to the packaging. During transportation, it should be protected from rain, sunlight, and moisture.
