Tetrahydrofuran
Tetrahydrofuran (THF) is a colorless, miscible with water, at room temperature and pressure with a small viscosity of organic liquid. The chemical formula of this cyclic ether can be written as (CH2)4O. Because of its long liquid range, it is a commonly used medium polar aprotic solvent. Its main use is as a polymer precursor. Although the odor and chemical properties of THF are very similar to those of ether, the anesthetic effect is very poor.
Acetonitrile
Also known as methyl cyanide, colorless liquid, highly volatile, has a special smell similar to ether, has excellent solvent properties, can dissolve a variety of organic, inorganic and gaseous substances. Has certain toxicity, and water and alcohol infinite mutual solubility. Acetonitrile can produce typical nitrile reactions and is used to prepare many typical nitrogen-containing compounds, which is an important organic intermediate.
Phenol
Phenol (C6H5OH) is a kind of colorless needle crystal with special odor, which is toxic. It is an important raw material for the production of some resins, fungicides, preservatives and drugs (such as aspirin). It can also be used to disinfect surgical instruments and excreta, skin sterilization, itching and otitis media. Melting point 43 ℃, slightly soluble in water at room temperature, soluble in organic solvents; when the temperature is higher than 65 ℃, it can be miscible with water in any proportion. Phenol is corrosive and will denature local proteins upon contact, and its solution can be washed with alcohol on the skin. A small portion of phenol is pink when exposed to air and oxidized by oxygen to quinone. When ferric ions turn purple, this method is usually used to test phenol.
Cyclohexanone
Organic compound, a six-carbon cyclic ketone, is a colorless oily liquid at room temperature, has an odor similar to peppermint oil and acetone, and turns yellow in color for a long time. The impure is light yellow, with the storage time to generate impurities and color, water white to grayish yellow, with a strong pungent odor. The explosive pole mixed with air is the same as the open chain saturated ketone. Cyclohexanone is used industrially as a solvent and as a trigger for some oxidation reactions. It is also used in the production of adipic acid, cyclohexanone resin, caprolactam and nylon.
Isopropyl alcohol
An organic compound, an isomer of n-propanol, alias dimethyl methanol, 2-propanol, also known as IPA in the industry. Colorless transparent liquid, like a mixture of ethanol and acetone odor. Soluble in water, also soluble in alcohol, ether, benzene, chloroform and other organic solvents. Isopropanol is an important chemical product and raw material. Mainly used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, plastics, spices, coatings, etc.
Dichloromethane
Dichloromethane, an organic compound with the chemical formula CH2Cl2, is a colorless transparent liquid with a pungent odor similar to ether. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether, in the usual conditions of use is a non-flammable low boiling point solvent, its vapor in the high temperature air into a high concentration, will generate weak combustion of mixed gas, commonly used to replace flammable petroleum ether, ether and so on.
Petroleum ether
Petroleum ether, a light petroleum product, is a mixture of low molecular weight hydrocarbons (mainly pentane and hexane), is a colorless transparent liquid with kerosene odor. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, benzene, chloroform, oils and other organic solvents. Mainly used as a solvent and grease treatment, but volatile and fire. Petroleum ether (PE) and ethyl acetate (EA) are commonly used as eluents in laboratory column chromatography. Petroleum ether is not equal to gasoline, and at the same time, there is no ether bond (C-O-C) in its structure.
N-butanol
Butanol, also known as 1-butanol, is an organic compound, chemical formula C4H10O, is a colorless transparent liquid, slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether and other organic solvents, mainly used for the preparation of esters, plastic plasticizers, medicine, paint, can also be used as a solvent.
Dimethylformamide
N,N-dimethylformamide, is an organic compound, chemical formula C3H7NO, is a colorless transparent liquid. It is not only a kind of chemical raw material with wide application, but also a kind of excellent solvent with wide application. It can be mixed with water and most organic solvents, and has good solubility for a variety of organic compounds and inorganic compounds.
